The Celebrate the Good Life at San Jose, California
San Jose is not only home to a lot of beautiful hotspots but
also a city of rich history and culture. San Jose is one of the
districts in Santa Clara and is the third most crowded city in
United States. This only proves that a lot of people find the
place attractive and standard of living is at its optimum. It
has been the safest city in America for the past years. It’s
located at the south end of the San Francisco Bay within the boundaries
of Silicon Valley, and is considered as one of the largest city
in the San Francisco Bay Area.
During 1777, the first Spanish colonist named San Jose as Pueblo
de San José de Guadalupe in honor of Saint Joseph. It was
founded as a farming community to provide foods for nearby military
installations. It was actually the first Spanish colony of Nuva
California. The town has a rich water supply from the Guadalupe
River enticing Olhone Indians to inhabit the place.
The colonists were not only attracted to the nearby supply of
drinking water, but mainly because Spanish government had other
plans with the nearby cities where the source of water is. Spanish
government decided to extend its plans to have more people to
settle in that area. Until the early 1840s, the Americans arrived
and were attracted to the accessibility of the land. After news
spreading out that the land was abundant in natural resources,
the area was populated rapidly. More and more people settled in
San Jose and by 1849 it was declared the first capital of California.
San Jose has enjoyed a buoyant economy through the years and
it has moved from the primary farming and agriculture to advanced
products that are even used in spacecrafts and high-performance
electronics. The city continues to play a big role to many canneries
and food-processing centers that feed the country. As a part of
Silicon Valley, large manufacturing plants also inhabit the area
including aerospace and electronic companies.
In 1871, San Jose State University, one of the original schools
in the area, opened its doors to local students. Stanford University
and the University of Santa Clara also become respected names
in education in the city of San Jose.
San Jose is truly a have for visitors and tourists. Some of the
historical and amazing places in the city include the San Jose
Convention Center, Center for the Performing Arts, and the San
Jose Museum of Art. Other attractions include Alum Rock Park,
Kelly Park, San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, Rosicrucian Park and
the Historical Museum.
Without a doubt, San Jose became one of the crowded and busiest
cities in the Northern California. With its high standard of living,
it has become at par with other progressive and famous cities
in the world.
